The Creation

  • Elk rolled over the land which produced crops.
  • People created the land from the mud in their hands.

Sacred Legend

  • People were originally in water
  • Wove clothing from grass
  • They were poor and cold


The Legend of the Peace Pipes

  • Chief commanded man to go into woods and create the pipe.
  • Made to keep peace within the tribe
  • One pipe prevented revenge
  • If you refused the pipe four times, this meant that you could not ask for help or for mercy.

The Eagles Revenge

  • A man killed a deer
  • He also killed an eagle who picked at the dead deer.
  • Later the brother of the eagle came and killed many members of the hunter's tribe to enact revenge.
Old-Woman-Who-Never-Dies

  • Women offers corn to young travelers
  • Does not age

The Three Ghost Stories

  • Ghosts mistreat the spirit of murderers
  • They also abuse the lonely
  • Human bones were piled along the tree
