Week 2 Reading Anthology

My favorite story from the myth-folklore anthology was definitely Beauty and the Basilisk . This story kept me entertained especially because I could not predict what was going to happen next at any point in the story. This story is part of the Czech Folktales unit . Story source: The Key of Gold by Josef Baudis (1922). The summary of the story is that while gathering gifts for her children, a mother remembered that her youngest dauhter asked for three roses. The mom eventually obliged and went back to her daughter who was surprisingly calm about the entire situation. She was ordered to nurse the gardener for several days. After this, she was told to cut off his head. She did not want to do this but eventually did. The serpents head rolled off and it was replaced by a serpent head which she agai...
