The Man who Met Misery

  • The son of a wise man goes out into the real world to search for misery.
  • He eventually comes across an Ogre in a basement, who he then blinds.
  • The ogre ripped his finger off but the prince returned with his life.


Nine At A Blow

  • Clever man continually tricks a giant
  • He eventually convinces the Giant to jump off of a building, claiming he would fly.
  • The Giant died and he took the money they earned together.


A Clever Lass

  •  A king is continually fooled by a young woman
  • The woman impressed him so they got married
  • She disobeyed his wishes and gave advice to another man
  • She was told to leave and take the thing she liked best with her
  • She knocked the king out and took him with her
  • At this point the king was so impressed that he allowed her to give advice to whomever she wanted. 



Old Nick and Kitty

  • Kitty was an unattractive old woman
  • She was determined to dance with Old Nick
  • Old Nick agreed to dance with her at first but eventually was ready to leave her
  • Nick threw her in a pond


Three Supernatural Stories

  • Witches at the Cross: Joe opened a portal to see wicked witches.
  • The Witches tried to attack him with flaming brooms
  • Joe had enough of seeing the witches
  • The Witch and the Horseshoes: Man caught his wife in the act of being a witch
  • She tried to transform into a horse and hide from him
  • He caught her, even after she transformed back, her hands stayed as hooves.
  • The Haunted Mill: A ghost smacked monkeys around as he was preparing fish
  • A bear finally overcame him and was able to get to the fish
